Homens de Saia --- Men in Skirt

WITH LUCIANO & CAROL ON THE WAY TO THE SWAP OUT UNIFORM PARTY

TRANSLATION:
Cleiton Botelho

E ai galera blz? Espero que sim... Por aqui td ótimo!
What’s up? I hope is everything all right... Here it’s OK!

The peaceful times in Mediterranean Season sometimes is boring. But, it’s good, looking on the job thing, so I have more free time to rest and discover the places. The social life has changed as well: the crew bar is not always full, BUT…

As festas diminuiram, mas a gente ainda faz festa
Alguns momentos quebraram a calmaria do crew bar.

The parties have slowed dow, but we still throw our parties
The quiet times we’ve been having at the crew bar was suddenly broken. Last week The Swap Out Uniform Party brought some good vibe. By the way, Luciano and I did “draw some attention” at this event.

SWAP OUT UNIFORM PARTY

At the first instance we’d change the uniforms between ourselves. But at the last minute when he saw the girls from de restaurant passing trough the corridor he had the brilliant idea of having us dressed up as WAITRESS!

I swear that I wasn’t into it, but as there was a group of people in my cabin pushing me into it, I ended up doing it, obviously that a shot of VODKA before doing that was crucial. When we got to the crew bar, the people made such a noise, that we looked like celebrities because a lot of “fellow” came in to take pictures. Of course there were some people who hated it, especially those who hate anything that can have any connection with homosexuality.

SWAP OUT UNIFORM PARTY: CARLOS, POLLYANA & LUCIANO

The “Brigadeiro Party” was cool too. The dear fellows from the restaurant managed to prepare some “brigadeiros” in disposable glasses, after all free time to do that is something that crew is far away from. At the Party everything ended up in SAMBA and CHOCOLATE.

Some of the cabins had some action as well, especially those from DECK 2. At some time ago Luciano and I used to complain for not being invited for the so called “BRONX Party", but now everything has changed.

FABIO'S BIRTHDAY: THE CABIN PARTY

Fabio’s birthday was the best one. The sound came from a Felipe’s tiny speaker, the bathroom toilet was clogged, two almost brand new bottles of “fuel” were busted, but even though everybody had such fun.The security tried to play the party pooper telling everyone to go to their cabins.

FABIO'S BIRTHDAY: THE CABIN PARTY

There was also DIEGO’s birthday, the party from the girls from the bar, GU’s farewell party and nedless to say CARLOS’, my boss. By the way, Cleiton is now our manager and I am temporarily living alone. Shall I throw a party?

By the way, these parties saved me from the famous 5-month crises. Once again I felt like giving up everything and go away, but it is over now.

IT IS HARD TO PUT ALL THESE PALLETS INSIDE THE SHIP

Can you imagine I fell for the April 1st joke?
On that day Carlos, my boss, came into the shop and gave me a paper and left. It was an e-mail saying that my contract would be extended, as I requested, but, in two day I would be transferred to a different ship. I think I’d better not say the ship’s name, but it’s a small one where nobody wants to work.

WITH PATRICIA AFTER BRIGADEIRO'S PARTY

At the first when I read it drove me crazy, I complained and said that I wouldn’t go. But when I read that again, I found out some mistakes and realized that could be a joke. But nobody said a word about it and pretended they were feeling sad about it.

Durning the team meeting I heard everybody shouting: “we caugh you, Today’s april 1 st.!!!”. That’s the price we pay for being popular and loved.

CASABLANCA (MORROCOS): WITH CARLOS, LUCIANO & ANA

Barred in Corsica
At the first cruise from this season the ship had an overnight in Ajaccio, in Córsega. It was Saturday and all crew got excited to go out. I did it but not so motivated because my fellows couldn’t go out: Cleiton was in charge of the shops, in case of customs and Luciano was very cold. The city doesn’t have many options at this cold time of the year and I came back to the ship cause I didn’t find interesting. So I went to the crew bar with the people who were in port maning.

BREAKFEST IN THE CREW MESS

For some crew members the possibility of have some fun at the french island became a drama, cause they were barred in 3 bars just because they were Brazilians. At one of this places Leticia, that we call her Portuguese, but she was born in France, was also barred just because she was trying to help those guys.

Even inside the places the discrimination was clear again. One of my friends was talking with one French girl and the following took place:

- Eu queria te apresentar um amigo...
- I would like to indroduce you a friend of mine...

The girl took a look at his friend and answered quite ofended:

- Eu não quero conhecer o seu amigo.
- I don’t wanna know your friend.

- Mas, por que? Ele esta comigo...
- But, why? He is with me...

- Não quero! Ele é negro!
- I don’t want to.! He’s black!

My friend said some bad words in portuguese and left the place.

16 INSIDE THE CABINE

Feijoada do Aldinei

Aldinei’s Feijoada
Aldinei was working onboard Island Star as chief security, but the company transferred him back to Island Escape. Before leaving us, he prepared one feijoada for the crew, but only the Brazilians, with some exceptions, we all met at 11pm at the Staff Mess to try it.

CANNES: WITH LUCIANO

“AMIGA CONSEGUIMOS!!!”

Even though he left the ship without I say good bye to him, everbody loves him and will miss him. “Darling we got it!!!”.

RECADINHO:

Message:
It’s been sometime I am thinking about writing this blog in English because of my new friends, but as I am not an expert in english that will demand a little extra work.

WITH ALINA & NARA AT THE CREW BAR

Having a life of STAFF, I do wish to save up some money and that consequently demands for going out less frequently, mainly in port of calls that I have already know quite a lot. Well, ladies and gents here you are “Na Cabine” – In the Cabin em Portugues and in English.

This translation is not exactly the same, but I’ll try to keep it as similar as possible without changing the sentences meaning. To this revising post, I will count on Cleiton, my ex-roomate.
